Julie Silvera
Three-time Lionel Hampton award winner and two-time Downbeat Magazine award winning jazz vocalist Julie Silvera will bring her sophistication and musical interpretations of both the “old and new” jazz standard library. Silvera has sung with amazing Jazz contemporary artists Russell Malone, Christian McBride, Roy Hargrove, Ira Sullivan and the Lionel Hampton rhythm section to name a few. She has also had the pleasure of performing as a background vocalist for some of today’s musical greats including Michael Bublé, George Benson, Josh Groban, Gloria Estefan and KC of KC and the Sunshine Band and most recently German pop and soul star, Max Mutzke. Silvera is known as a vocal stylist and storyteller with a warm and crystal clear sound that shows off her almost four octave range. One critic states:

“Listen to the honey – no molasses – of her tone... Just when you cozy into her velvet sound, she growls out a line that is motivated purely by swing. Phrasing around the rhythm and landing in the pocket, she swings, and swings hard.”

This Jamaican born Jazz vocalist from America has toured Jazz clubs and festivals throughout Europe including Birdland Jazz Club and Bar Italia – Hamburg, Cave Du 38Riv’ –Paris, Elegance Jazz Café – Rome, 12/14 Jazz Club –Warsaw, Pashkevich Jazz Club –Riga, Deutsch Berlin Opera Jazz Ensemble – Berlin, Jedermann Kavezo – Budapest, Riga Jazz Festival, the Eppendorfer Jazz Festival and the Orava Jazz Festival in Slovakia. During her tours she promoted her first two albums “Sojourner” and “Because there is You” which showcase her ability to swing both with a traditional trio and in a duo collaboration which included the renowned Cuban guitarist, Jorge Garcia and seven time Latin Grammy winner Federico Britos on violin.
